This coming October 7, 2007, be prepared for yet another big bang as fight fans in the Philippines and Mexico and all over the world make advance reservations in the cable companies to make sure that they can watch the Pacquiao – Barrera 2 fight live and less the unnecessary commercials and interruptions. Pay-per-view in the Philippines is coming in to a big boost in revenues this time for the all out promotion of the biggest fight of the century between the baby faced assassin and the no fear boxer in Pacman.
Dubbed as “Will to Win” this Pacquiao-Barrera fight takes place. This truly promises to take the attention of the biggest crowd ever in the boxing history in the Mandalay Bay Boxing Arena. Taking the pens and flashing cameras of the biggest names in the boxing sports magazines and the commentators and fanatics, the two will start a heart pounding adventure into the ring to take the doubts away and settle disputes and doubts. For Barrera, it is resurrection from humility when he got overwhelmingly beaten to knockout by Pacquiao and to Pacman, who is out to prove that he is indeed the undisputed and the best pound for pound world boxing champion in his division.
He is out to prove that he will be the only undisputed boxer who gets to beat the dynasty in both Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera. He still holds that record no mater what but he is out there to permanently clear disputes of being the best pound for pound in the history of boxing in three divisions which he conquered upon beating both fighters.
Pacman or Barrera – Who Has the Will to Win ?
The will of two fast and fearless warriors Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera who are both taking everything down with them as they collide for the throne of being the best pound for pound boxer in the world in three divisions will now take place in the records of the ring in Mandalay Bay Boxing Arena on October 6, 2007, 9:00 PM – ET in the U.S. time and on October 7, 2007, 6:00 PM – PT in Philippine Time.
Who has the will to win? Who will prevail? There can only be one and that will become a reality as they both take their gloves and punches to the ring while the whole world is watching. Pacquiao with his storm of punches and Barrera with nothing a dispute to settle, nothing can stop them as they step inside the ring to prove everything once and for all whoever is truly the best.
Pacquiao Beating Barrera in 1st Fight
The first fight happened in 2003, where Manny Pacquiao beat Marco Antonio Barrera in a 12 round championship fight with the featherweight belt at stake. The first round took Pacman in the canvass as Barrera allegedly hit him with a punch but commentators said that it was no knockdown. Referee Lawrence Cole decided to call it a knockdown and counted Pacman up to 8. The second round took Barrera to wondering how come Pacquiao can do so much by his punches but nothing else so far with the exchanges getting a little bit bitter each time.
In the middle of the third round, Barrera was taken to the canvass convincingly with so many punches to the head and the body. The fourth round took the two throwing even more and more bitter punches with each other but Pacman getting the most of it up to the last minute of the third round with Pacman getting the scorecards to his favor. The fourth round took Barrera out punched when the no fear Pacquiao beat him with a flurry of punches and outbox him with tremendous hand speed and scored at will.
He woke Barrera with an 18 to 7 edge over power punches connecting everywhere. Round seven catches Barrera with an accidental head but, cutting his left eyebrow and wincing while the fight is on. Barrera dominated in the first round but Pacquiao got the next rounds with a lot of storm punches which the commentators described as an avalanche to the head and the body, making the corner men of Barrera throw the towel in the in tears of sadness upon watching the beating and can no longer take it.
It was the first time that the proud Barrera saw the worst beating in his career. Finally, round number 11 took its toll when the towel saw stopping the fight and the corner man embraced their fighter probably saying no more. The fight finally ended with Manny Pacquiao winning by stoppage or TKO and he made the whole of Philippines win that battle and take the glory once more to his homeland. Since then boxing in the Philippines will never be the same again
The Battle of Three-Division Champions
Everybody hopes that this battle of the three division champions will stop the ticking of the clock as the rematch between Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Marco “The Baby Faced Assassin” Barrera in the ring for the second time in what is dubbed as the fight of the century – “Will To Win”. As a trailer once said, who has the will to win? I bet this is one true question as there were many controversies surrounding the camp of Pacquiao prior to the fight. It includes a suspected affair with co-star in a movie named Ara Mina.
The sneaking to the basketball court to Cebu after suffering from a flu which he nested for two days or so. Then the so many change of mind and sudden flying to the Philippines when he just arrived in the U.S. to train having an alibi of spies coming from the Barrera camp doing on their training site. Despite all this controversies that the boxing champ is going through, Freddie Roach, the great trainer saying “don’t worry, Manny is OK”.
Pacquaio Barrera 2 at Mandalay Bay Boxing Arena
The fight is going to be held at Mandalay Bay Boxing Arena which has been home to many great fights including the best pound for pound champions in many faces in the history of boxing. The two fighters will clash their way to the ring and prove once and for all whoever is truly the best in the three-division fighters that they both belong to.
Like other boxers who came to be in the hall of fame for the integrity that they have when they face an opponent in the ring the two fighters are going to give it a try. One is hoping for resurrection from a great defeat and one trying to prove that he has what it takes to conquer three divisions in his career and take back the undisputed pride of being the one and only standing champion when the bell rings at round 12.
With the fight coming near within a few days, The Philippines is hoping that despite all the controversies and hardships and distractions, Manny will prevail and take the pride in presenting the undisputed crown home to the Philippines. The boxing fight fans are optimistic that Manny has the will to win and the Pacquiao – Barrera fight 2 will belong to one of his trophies at home and in his country the Philippines. Manny hopes to send money to the Philippines by the millions of peso once more as he battles the legend in Barrera.
