World Anime Cosplay Summit 2011: Hero face off contest

It’s one of the best times for animé enthusiasts as they all get the chance to attend the “World Cosplay Summit 2011” in Nagoya, Japan next year 2011. We’ve all seen in TV Patrol the other night as cosplay anime heroes gear up for their face-off match in their dashing get-ups and anime attire of their favorite characters. Each and everyone of them, kids, teens and even young adults vie to win the Hero Face Off: The Ultimate Cosplay Battle. The gig kicks off yesterday, 1 p.m. at Skydome of SM City North Edsa in Quezon City.

Animé cable channel Hero TV, in cooperation with cosplay org giants Animé Alliance and Cosplay.ph, spins up this one big event for anime fanatics and cosplay addicts as they all match up to take the cosplay act in the Philippines to help popularize it further and hopefully become a tradition in the country. The Hero Face Off: The Ultimate Cosplay Battle champions (winners) will be sent to the origin and birthplace of cosplay in Nagoya, Japan to attend and compete the prestigious (Anime) 2011 World Cosplay Summit.

According to the organizers, there were a total of 260 cosplayers who compete for three different categories namely: Kids Squad Individual, League of Heroes Group and Face Off Individual. This battle is a once in a lifetime event match for costumes and anime characters for Filipinos. Reports in Philippine Star new online website says the details about the cosplay contest event below.

“The two grand winners of Face Off Individual category will be sent in Japan with P15,000 cash prize and a Samsung F44 camcorder.

A prize of P30,000 with a Samsung F44 camcorder awaits the grand winner of the League of Heroes Group category while P10,000 with Samsung Genoa Phone awaits the first placer in the Kid Squad Individual Category. Cash prizes for the second and third placers of each of the categories will also be given.

Interested participants of the Hero TV’s biggest cosplay event of the year, sponsored by Nutri-C, Cherifer PGM 10-22, Appebon Kid and MyLac Prep, may register on-line by checking out www.myheronation.com or www.cosplay.ph. You may also register on the event from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Registration fee is P50.
