It was a good day for the former undefeated pinoy boxer, Marvelous Marvin Sonsona. After more than a year of not fighting in the ring, he finally hit it by winning the first boxing fight he went in to after the long layoff from boxing.

In Back With A Vengeance that happened in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City the other night which I was able to watch cautiously, Sonsona did win his match. The sad thing is despite the lessons that he should have learned out of a careless defeat, he seemed to have not really learned a lot.

Sonsona still remains to be the proud and cocky fighter that he is before he suffered a slap defeat losing his world championship belt. The defense is still the same and the stamina didn’t seem to have strengthen from what he displayed last night. I can just imagine what this kid did in his layoff for more than a month.

Well, what I can say is that if he is serious and really willing to follow the footsteps of champions like Nonito Donaire and Manny Pacquiao, he should concentrate more on his defenses and he should also strengthen his body which is actually one of his weaknesses. There is no doubt that the strength in his punches are still there but the boy still has a lot to improve to be able to come back in track and win another championship belt for himself.
