How to Apply for DFA Machine Readable Passport

Let me take first things first with the process of your DFA passport application – MRP or machine readable passport. Here are the 3 basic reminders.

- fill up an application form (download link below), second is to attach all the requirements to your passport application form (make sure that this was taken right in the office of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and third, follow the steps below. Steps in Applying for MRP from DFA

Records Verification – Records verification happens at the DFA basketball court, particularly in window A and B.
Documents Evaluation and Processing – All your submitted requirements and legalities required from you as attached will be checked.
Payment, Encoding and Fingerprinting – This particular step happens at the auditorium.

Please take note about the actual payment or passport fees that you have to pay and don’t ever forget to ask for a receipt from the cashier where you will pay your passport fees. gusto ko lang po malaman ang requirements sa pagkuha ng passport ng 2 kong anak,
na ang edad ay 7 at 11 years old, 1 lang po ang valid ID nila ung sa school pwede na po ba na isa ng ID lang?

Sir / Ma’am ,

I am working overseas for almost 4 1/2 years , I had my green passport renewed at Koror Palau May 30 2008 and expires May 30 2013 . I heard so many unfavorable stories about renewal from green passport to what is called MRP ( machine readable passport ) . I am now currently in Yap Micronesia and my timetable to avail my vacation is on 2012 , my question is can I still use my green passport ?

Some stories are really horrible to hear and illogical , we are working abroad and some said we hv to go back home just to renew our passport to MRP , imagine how much it will cost us ? Just for the renewal ?
