We all know that in any part of the world, the most important place we always go in every home is the kitchen.

They say our eyes are the windows of our soul, then, our kitchens are the heart of our homes.

The kitchen is where we prepare and cook for our family, eat breakfast and sometimes we eat our dinner here, and the kitchen is the perfect place to entertain not only our family but our friends.

This is where many stories have been told and witnessed most of members of our family’s emotions.  Admit it? We laugh, cry, get angry, ideas concocted and happy full stomach will always be present.

That’s why we need to make this important place in our homes to be clean and tidy.  Now, how can we maintain it to be clean?

Here are some of the tips to make our kitchen clean and the perfect place to hang out:

  • Everyday, we need to control the bad fumes in our kitchen.  Smell of the food we fry, garbage, stinking stains, these are only some that can contribute to the odor of your kitchen.  To eliminate the bad fumes, simply mix 3 tablespoons of vinegar and water in a saucepan the boil it for several minutes.  Let the fume circles around your kitchen.  Vinegar is acidic versus the odor’s alkaline content.  Vinegar helps to neutralize the alkaline in the air.

  • Throw your trash regularly.  Always make it sure that your garbage bag is properly place in the trash bin so that no spill will occur.  Once your trash leave smelly liquid waste, use a paper towel and wipe it away.  Then spray the trash bin inside and out with a disinfectant spray and let it dry.  Make this a habit and do this once or twice a week to keep the bad odor in your kitchen.

  • Always make it sure that all your kitchen appliances will be left clean.  Regularly, check if there are water leaks in your refrigerators.  Defrosting causes bad smell.  Clean the ovens and microwave a minimum of three times a week.  Wipe the oil splash on the walls and in your stove.  Use a mixture of baking soda and water, damp your rag into it, then wipe the mixture to your appliances.  This mixture is also a great help in maintaining a clean floor in your kitchen.

  • Keep your kitchen sink always clean.  Always unclog the drainage in your sink using a liquid non-food grade lye.  It helps in declogging the sink.  Then a mixture of baking soda and water, wipe the sink, tiles and walls with it to disinfect any bacteria about to form.

  • If there are spills in the oven and microwave that is hard to clean, try sprinkling salt then wipe it away.  This also help in keeping the odor to a minimum smell.
