37, 000 Pinoy Jobs in Qatar for Filipinos (OFW) by 2009

There is an expected 37,000 jobs in Qatar for Filipinos by 2009 which may be made available to Pinoys by February to March of next year. The president of the Philippines and labor attache met with the authorities from Middle East in Qatar which gave them the news to tell the OFWs and the skilled and professional labor force from the Philippines that the said 37,000 Qatar jobs for Filipinos for will be open early 2009. The same news about the opening of the job was earlier reported at Manila Standard Today and Philippine Daily Inquirer, both an online local news website from the Philippines.

According to reports, there will be about 22 large companies from Qatar who were interested to hire Filipinos for different industries like oil and gas, transportation and construction respectively. Officials also said that the main reason they are interested to hire Filipinos for the said jobs in Qatar is because Filipinos are efficient and skilled. Meanwhile, president Arroyo also directed, ambassador Roy Cimatuto see if there is any chance that the deployment of workers to Lebanon, Iraq and Nigeria may resume by March.

This will probably be one of the best New Year offering for Filipinos if this pushes through along with opening of jobs in Cyprus for Filipinos which is expected to open up early next year too.This news came straight when the president went to Doha Qatar for 3 days in an official visit there. Filipinos are lucky that despite the economic recession, the OFWs have something to look forward to by the opening of 2009.
