Jobs in Canada for Pinoy OFW at POEA
About 25, 000 POEA jobs in Canada is waiting for Pinoy OFWs this year. The job opportunities according to Richard Mills of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, at least, this number of workers will be entertained for different skilled and professional Filipinos who have the qualification to get hired for a work in Canada. The different positions were said to range from healthcare, oil industry as well as in engineering field. In relation to this statement, Secretary Marianito Roque of DOLE – Department of Labor and Employment confirmed this good news and said that the job openings are included in the program of a series of 4 memorandum of understanding between the Philippines and the different Canada provinces. This will include Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia (B.C.). This is also part of the government’s last year program.
If you remember that this was supposed to be at most about 40,000 workers for different jobs in Canada but was later this year reduced to 25, 000 due to the ongoing economic crisis.
Job openings for Canada are now exclusively open for viewing as posted at the official website of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). As a reminder, please be guided that all the job positions posted will not and does not take any money or cash. Applicants must understand that this is for manpower pooling only and that they do not have to pay anything or any amount for the placement fee upon applying for the above mentioned Canada jobs
As an additional information for those who could get hired for the different positions in this program, the lucky applicants could apply to become migrant workers after 2 years of work in Canada and will be treated as guest workers while on this program.
According to Richard Mills of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, companies will be hiring more Pinoys and will be offered different jobs locally and that most of these jobs will be centered to the business process outsourcing (BPO) centers in the Philippines or the Canadian firms present in the country right now. It will be an open job of at least 10,000 more for Filipinos here in the Philippines pointed in improving the BPO industry in the country.
