President Noynoy Aquino Interview Video with Ces Drilon of ABS-CBN

The president elect of the Philippines, Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino was interviewed last night, June 9, 2010 by ABS-CBN news anchor, Ces Drilon about his plans for the Philippines now that he is on the way for the proclamation and oath taking as the new president of the Philippines. When asked about his views on concerns about forming his cabinet members, all he said was that only people who are willing to serve the people’s interest will be members of his cabinet.

He also said that if any of the potential cabinet members he is looking in to will not yield in to this basic principle, then, sorry for them. They will not get a slot on his cabinet, president Noynoy Aquino reportedly said. When asked about his views on the “kamag-anak” system and “kaklase” system, he instantly defended his views on the possibility that some of the people who are his classmates back in college might be put into position as part of his cabinet members.

This being the case, the new president said, he will make sure first that he or she will be embracing in the first place, his ideals from the start of the campaign which is to serve the people and their interest. President Noynoy Aquino also said that from the start, some of the people behind him were those who knows and embraces his ideals of no corruption in the government. Therefore, he will make sure that even if some of his close friends / classmates will sit in the cabinet, that they will serve and protect the people’s interest.
