   I secured my NSO birth certificate and CENOMAR thru phone last May 2009 and I was asked by the person who received my requests the purpose of getting the certificates and I replied to her that its for marriage. My question is would these certificates be valid for some other purposes also like for immigrant visa?

    I think that if it were for marriage purpose that you insisted on the person you talked to, it would not be a valid copy to use for a visa. There is a different authentication process and seal for that document. I am not 100 % sure of it but you can always call the NSO online through their hotline number.

    hi i’ve requested a copy of my birth cert in your office but I was wondering why I recieved it not in a certificate of live birth form. I just received the birth certificate which is in typewritten form or birth certificate supplementary. In my original cert of live birth there was no name written on it but I have already and submitted supplemental affidavits that why you have a copy of my birth certificate supp. Can you do something about it, somebody told me that you can just write at the sides of the birth saying it is being annotated.Can you that? Because I really need a birth certificate in a certificate of live birth form. Can you help me.

    Nobody can be automatically single just like that otherwise lahat ng ayaw na sa asawa nila ay ganyan ang gagawin. Right? but that could be grounds for a divorce. You have to file for divorce first before you can be single and that is if you win your case. That is the only way your NSO marriage certificate can become invalid.

    Do you have any customer service numbers where I can reach you? I reside in Cavite and the office I know is located in Libertad near DFA. It saves time if I just call first before heading to your office. At least I would have the requirements ready or any documents needed cause the previous one got lost.     Good day i would like to ask po bout changing religion in my birth certificate
    but my birth certifcate is already authenticated. im baptist in catholic church which is not any church in zamboanga but in other part of mindanao,in my birth certificate its indcates im islam which is my religion but im in two aspect my mother is islam and my father is catholic, im asking any help in this matter i would like to change my religion in my birth certificate from islam to catholic but my problem is my baptismal certificate is not with me where can i ask help to fine my record that im baptist in catholic church cause i want to get passport which identify me as catholic, Im hoping your help and consideration in this matter…please

    i need help.
    i filed a correction on my sons birth certificate. Due to secpa, process takes 2 months to receive the corrected copy from NSO (according to LCR). So, i filed for manual authentication, i already received this corrected manual authenticated birth certificate. Unfortunately, DSWD Subic did not honor it(in this case, manual authenticated from NSO is useless?). I need to obtain travel clearance for my son as soon as possible since my petition will be void on Feb. 2010 if I haven’t submit my requirements before february. is there anyway to expedite my application for obtaining the corrected birth certificate from NSO?

    HI po! tanong ko lang po sana kung ano po yong dapat gawin sa case ng BC ng mama ko. Yong registered BC nya is Leticia Arevalo pero yong ginamit niya sa school is Leticia Tamayo since iyong Arevalo na nasa Birth Certificate nya hindi totoong Surname ng Papa nya, ginamit lang nila yong Arevalo dahil sa panahon ng Hapon daw kaya nag nick name yong Papa niya. So paano po namin ma chachange from Arevalo to Tamayo ang Surname ng Mama ko? Dadaan pa po ba ito sa hearing? At magkano po ba pwedeng gastos nito? Thanks po. My mama is 56 na po ngayon.

    Mag aapply po kayo ng change gender sa NSO in your case and then hihingan po kayo to bring supporting documents, e.g., baptismal certificate, school records, etc. Correction must be done through RA 9048 (Clerical Error Law).

    It will depend on how fast you can provide NSO with the requirements of your document request. Mas mabilis po ninyo maibibigay ang dupporting documents na hinihingi ng NSO ay mas mabilis din po maaayos ang kaso ng clerical error. In some cases ay umaabot po ng months before maayos.

    pumunta ako sa nso last jan 6 para ikuha ng ABC un anak ko pero lumabas n negative.. hndi pa daw pinpasa ng munisipyo un copy ng BC nia.. pumunta naman ako sa munisipyo nmin, sabi nmn nila ay naipasa n daw nila un.. bka hndi p lang daw nbubuksan ng nso.. ask ko lang poh kung kelan mabubuksan un BC nia. kaylangan ko na xe ikuha siya ng passport..

     Hi! I just want to ask how to change my husband incorrect date of birth in his NSO. It should be March 17, 1972 but instead it was written as January 17, 1975. We recently found it out when we requested a copy for passport purposes. He never requested BC before because baptismal was accepted that time in school and even when we got married in 1990. In all his other documents like baptismal, school records and IDs has a correct birthdate info.

     I wonder if there are some easy and fastest way on how to correct it without going to a lawyer or publishing it in a newspaper, because it cost lot of money and time that we can’t afford this time. We need his NSO in urgent time for his passport application. Could you please help us.

     If a child was born in another country with both Filipino parents, what is the status of the child, is his citizenship dual? The parents were married in the said country but they were not able to file the marriage contract here in Phils. nad now they are separated, what is the next step? The child is now 18 and apparently has no record locally of his birth.      hi, my mother somewhat has the same problem w/ MS. Halcon. She has no record at the municipality as well as at NSO. All she has is the baptismal ceritficate. Her case is somewhat more complicated.
     It was suggested to her to file for late registration The problem is she doesn’t have supporting documents. She doesn’t have marriage contract of her parents because they weren’t married. Also, her parents weer both already dead now so her father couldn’t sign for her to use his father’s family name. She cannot have an affidavit to use the surname of the father like what the above case has requested since she wasn’t born in a hospital.
     Another option was for her to use her mother’s family name. But i think that’s not a good option. She was using her father’s family name since birth. She’ll need to change all her documents and ID’s as well as ours since her father’s family name is the middle name that we’re using.
     Is there other way for her to use her father’s family name for late registration?

     Nais ko po sanang e report sa nyo na umabot napo ng 8 months ang process ng request po ng corrections ng middle name ng husband ko po Mark Ferdinand O. Mampolino sa Civil Registrars Office ng Escalante City Negros Occidental. Ang corrections po nito ay ang middle name nya na Yanson na dapat ang Olarte. Sana po magawan ng action to kung bakit sobrang tagal na ng proseso at nakapagbayad napo kami lahat lahat, pero wala pa silang maibigay na certificate of finality. Kasi on my case my birth place is HONGKONG and therefore my copy of birth certificate is Chinese but it has English translation. I was using that kind of BC since grade school up to now, and they accept my BC. But my problem now is when I get a new passport they say I need to have a NSO BC, so what am I going to do???
