      Hello Maureen,

The best place and people to ask about this concern is the POEA. They have a list of accredited agencies at alam nila kung illegal ang agency na yan.

I was being recruited by a man named Ian Parker claiming his a Senior Technical Resourcer from OGPR Group LTD. He said that I am going to be mobilize & start working in March 20, 2011 (Sunday) as an Instrument Designer. The company is Siwa Petroleum – part of Weatherford Group in Dubai. I have signed a contract & ready to be mobilize. He said that he is going to send a E-ticket from Phils. to Hongkong & Hongkong to Dubai. But the weird thing is he is not issuing me a working visa instead he said that I will be going to Dubai with a tourist visa & should provide a $200 show money. Then I will be processing the working visa when I started working there in Siwa Petroleum.
Just wanted to check if this is true.
    Please help.

    • Philippines Review says:

Based on what you have told in your story, this is a scam. There is no reason for you to go to Hong Kong only to find yourself working in Dubai later. Why not straight to Dubai if you are to work there. That is the catch. If I were you , you have to report this to the POEA. They are the ones best who knows how to handle this kind of situation or better yet, go to DOLE.

  • joemar says:

i also got a job offer before at ritz hotel london and milestone hotel london.they send me the contract and asking me to contact the russell walkers and associates which is their counterpart to provide my working permits/visa.after i emailed the russell walkers they advised me to send money for the processing thru western union.i started to think and seek advice and help then i inquired a group of lawyers base on london to investigate or confirm if they are licensed or legal to recruit people.then it was a scam thats what they say because the applicant have no expenses at all,it will shouldered by the employer.i alarmed the british embassy here in phillipines and they gave warning to the respondents hotels.final advice from them its up to the applicant if he/she will give money but can blamed no one but their self.

  • joemar says:

if you believed that you have the talent, skills, experiences you dont have to pay because the employer or company needs you so let them pay for you,am i right?just be sure that your gonna be a big asset for them if they are going to hire you.its just my idea.
