Duterte-Cayetano vowed to solve the woes of jeepney drivers
The team of Rodrigo Duterte and Alan Peter Cayetano may be the jeepney drivers hope to earn more for their long day on the road.
Mayor Duterte promised that if he wins the May Presidential elections, he will abolished the “boundary system” that has been practiced for too many decades now.
The tandem said in their campaign rally in Pasig and Paranaque, that many of the candidates in this year elections have been ignoring the drivers’ plea to lessen their everyday burden and let their families enjoy the fruit of their hardship.
The team also promised that they will clean their administration to be corrupt free and will be very transparent for the people to see that their government is for the people and only for the Filipinos.
During the Ronda Serye portion in the province of Iloilo, Duterte and Cayetano listened to all the complaints made by the local public utility vehicles drivers that the boundary system is making their lives more hardship rather that lightening the burden with only almost less than Php500 take home pay from a 12 or more than hours of driving.
Duterte will prioritize in his administration to attend the needs and heeds of the drivers and will dig into these problems with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).
Cayetano said that the “Incompetence breeds corruption. And corruption thrives in a culture of ineptitude. Mayor Duterte and I will not allow these things to continue. If elected, we will make sure that the different transportation agencies will truly serve the needs of our transport workers.”
Duterte and Cayetano said the boundary system or the commission basis of profit will have to go under their leadership.
