No To Con Ass Rally Successful Despite Attempts to Discredit
It seems that even if some parties who were in favor of con ass or constitutional assembly were doing hidden efforts to discredit the scheduled biggest mobilization this year, NO TO CON ASS rally was still successful.
Thousands and thousands of angry Filipinos for the congress stepping in their rights to be asked for whatever will play a big role in their lives continued to march to let the government know that they are not in favor of a constitutional assembly that was part of what only a few want.
This No To Con Ass rally generated a lot of speculation that this will be a test for those who are trying hard to push the continuation of charter change will see if it will succeed to pull people to march against it. Now that it has been proven, let us see what those Congressmen will do.
They are now all part of history in which they took part in anti-Filipino move to push the creation of con ass which many doubt would trigger the start of charter change or changing the Provisions of the Philippine Constitution.
- “No brownout, no A (H1N1) will hinder or stop the angry Filipino people from protesting against a move to put plasters in our mouth and change the law for one greedy reason”, says someone from the rally I asked.
- “No one, not even the president it seems can and will take the true meaning of democracy from us” says another person I was able to ask while standing outside of a building in Makati today to witness how people will show their disgust in the Congress and in the government.
- “We will not let those in position to use that to take advantage of our democracy and freedom from suppression”, says a third person I asked.
