Asian airports dominated this year’s SkyTrax World Airport Awards’ World’s Best Airport.

And for the fourth year in a row, the most awed and ahhs and amazing airport is Singapore’s Changi Airport.

SkyTrax World Airport Awards was announced on Wednesday in Cologne, Germany based on the millions of votes from new and frequent airline passengers.

Amazingly, there are no US airports on the top 10.

“To be named the World’s Best Airport by SkyTrax for the fourth year running is a significant achievement for Changi Airport and a clear affirmation that we continue to hit the right notes in our pursuit of service excellence,” airport CEO Lee Seow Hiang said in a statement issued by SkyTrax.

This year’s survey also marked the first time an airport in the Middle East landed on the top 10.

Here are the top 10 most beautiful airports in the world from no. 10 to no. 1:



The biggest leap from no. 22 in 2015 to the no. 10 spot, Qatar’s Hamad International Airport is also the only Middle East airport in the ranking.

Formerly known as the New Doha International Airport, Hamad International Airport opened on April 30, 2014 with the national carrier Qatar Airways did the ceremonial flight landing.

Hamad International Airport is located at Doha, Qatar.


From no. 12 in 2015 to the 9th place, Japan’s Kansai International Airport was also the recipient of the Best Airport for Baggage Delivery for two consecutive years and its promises more improvement for the coming years.

Kansai International Airport opened on September 4, 1994 replaced the Osaka International airport in its international flight.

Located on the artificial island of Osaka Bay, the airport is the international hub for all Japanese airways, has one of the fastest internet connection and installed a braille information boards in its restrooms and entrance.


Also last year’s 8th placer, England’s Heathrow Airport is the busiest airport in all of Europe’s international airport and the 6th busiest in the world.  Heathrow Airport is also Europe’s Best Airport, Best Airport Shopping and World’s Best Airport Terminal.

Located at the wast of Central London, Heathrow Airport is the primary hub of British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

Opened on February 17, 2005 after replacing Nagoya Airport, Centrair International Airport helped the Tokyo and Kansai in the international cargo shipments.

Commonly called as the Haneda Airport, Tokyo International Airport’s current international terminal opened on October 21, 2010.

Tokyo International Airport, located at Ota, Tokyo, Japan, moved from 5th last year to 4th this year, is the main hub for Japan’s major airlines, the Japan Airlines, Air Do and All Nippon Airways.

The international airport was also votes as the World’s Best Domestic Airport and Best Airport Terminal Cleanliness.


Also last year’s no. 3 World’s Best Airport, Munich Airport, is the secondary hub of Germany’s flag carrier the Lufthansa Airlines.

Named after Franz Josef Strauss, Bavaria’s Prime Minister, Munich Airport is located northeast of Munich near Freising.

Incheon International Airport is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world.  And each year, South Korea’s primary international airport is included always in the top 10 of the best airports in the world since it started operating in March, 2001.

Incheon International Airport or Seoul-Incheon International Airport retained its no. 2 ranking and is continuously improving to be the best not only in Asia but in the world’s best airport.

South Korea’s best airport also has more flights to Japan’s main cities than Japan’s Narita Airport.

The airport is also one of the most widely connected airport in the world connected to 320 cities in over 80 countries.
