Adobo Recipe

November 3rd, 2009 posted by Philippines Review

Did you know that there are actually 3 main adobo recipe courses you can serve in the table? If you are Filipino, you ought to know this but most would only venture in the chicken adobo recipe and pork adobo recipe. I came to know of another popular Pangasinense fish adobo recipe and it was good.

Adobo Recipe

Same ingredients for a classic chicken or pork adobe when mixed and used with fish will make up the 3rd main dish for an adobo recipe variation that very few would think to exist. I hope you guys try it out so here is my own version of the fish adobo.

Ingredients

1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of vinegar
1 cup of soy sauce
2 teaspoons red sugar
1/2 tablespoon of salt
2 tablespoons of flour
4 cloves roasted garlic
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
2-3 leaves of laurel (bay leaves)
1 whole or 8 cloves minced garlic
1 kilo of pork / chicken cut to pieces (replace with your choice of fish)

Procedure of Cooking

1. Boil water, vinegar and soy sauce.
2. Add fish and boil for 5 minutes more to allow fish to cook.
3. Put minced garlic after 5 minute boil and then follow immediately with bay leaves. Add salt as necessary.
4. Get a small bowl and mix flour and sugar with 1/4 cup tap water and add pepper. Boil for 1 minute.
5. Pour on top the roasted garlic and serve hot.

Same procedure goes for cooking pork or chicken adobo recipe. Don’t forget to add a zing to your cooking by adding the roasted garlic. Have a good time!
