New List of SSS Contribution Table for 2014

Google Advertisements

A new SSS contribution has taken effect 4 months ago. This means a new SSS contribution table is also issued by the Social Security System effective this year, 2014. In this new list, expect that a 0.6% monthly member contribution rate will be charged to all private employees, self employed, voluntary paying members as well as all OFWs (overseas Filipino workers). In this new rate, will come a revised version of the standards when it comes to the contribution table which is used by the SSS since time immemorial for filing for a salary loan and all other types of credit as well as in availing of benefits and member contribution computation.

Note that the table below entails and features the range of compensation, monthly salary credit, employer-employee share in contribution and the total amount to pay on a monthly amortization basis to the nearest SSS branch domestic and abroad. Note that in the table below, there is approximately 7.37% and 3.63% respectively which the employer (ER) and employee (EE) will have to pay as their corresponding share based from the total amount to contribute by the worker to be remitted to the SSS every month. On the other hand, Self-Employed (SE), Voluntary Members (VM) and OFWs members shall have to shoulder and pay the total rate of 11% in increase to their monthly remittance contribution.

The New and Latest SSS Contribution Table of 2014 (SE/VM/OFW)

sss contribution table 2014

I have already written a version of the 2011 table for your comparison on how long and how much increase has been incurred in your monthly amortization payments for member contribution. Luckily, I was able to search for another archive post detailing the very old 2009 SSS contribution table base chart. You can check that too so you know how high the contributions have gone up.

Please note that this is beneficial in the long run to employees because the higher the monthly contribution, the higher the retirement benefit will be but unlike the retirement social security benefits in other country, the amount given by the government thru the SSS is not enough to pay for a retired Pinoy’s life and daily expenditure. The same reason why Pinoys are probably one of the poorest retirees who cannot live up to the fruits of their labor after reaching the retirement age of 65 for employed workers and 60 years old for self-paying or non-employed worker, the current and latest retirement age for SSS members to get a lumpsum or retirement benefit.

The Report on the Increase in Monthly Contribution

There is a published report that states that the actual increase in the contribution rate ranges from 10.4% – 11%. You can read the full report at the official website of the SSS – Contrary to estimates from the report listed in the link above, the latest press release contained details of the increase which is actually not as stated above but a shy 0.6% as issued by the Malacanang Palace for guidance of the paying members of the Social Security System.
