Our Lady of Manaoag Church Pangasinan
Year 1610 was the time that the Manaoag Church in Pangasinan existed. It lived since the Spanish era up to this day which makes it one of the oldest churches in the Philippines put up under the structure that is influenced by Spanish architecture. 351 years of life since and the Manaoag Church had been home to millions of yearly pilgrimage and lenten destination for the healing powers of oil blessed in this church.
At the center of convergence of the church is where you can find the image of Our Lady of Manaoag where it appears floating in the middle of a wooden altar. Our Lady of Manaoag is flanked left to right by two well known saints. To the left, it is Saint Dominique of Guzman and to the right, she appears to be guarded by Saint Francis of Asissi.
Our Lady of Manaoag church holds up to 52 weekly regular masses for the people who attend coming from all corners of the Philippines archipelago including those who come from provinces. Every first Saturday of the month, the church celebrates “The Dawn Rosary & Procession” as well as other regular lenten mass with which the church had been known to be a top pilgrimage destination during Holy Week.
As Filipinos pay homage to Our Lady of Manaoag Church, tourists of catholic proportions in belief also flock to this place in Pangasinan every year. It contributes to the number of tourists and tourism revenues of the local government of Manaoag, Pangasinan.
